For an operation $\langle \mathbf{u}, \mathbf{v} \rangle$ to be a true inner product, it MUST follow three fundamental rules called axioms:
- Linearity: It plays nice with scaling and addition. $\langle c\mathbf{u} + \mathbf{v}, \mathbf{w} \rangle = c\langle \mathbf{u}, \mathbf{w} \rangle + \langle \mathbf{v}, \mathbf{w} \rangle$.

Measuring Length: The Norm π (4/12)
How long is a vector? The inner product tells us! The norm (or length) of a vector $\mathbf{v}$, written as $||\mathbf{v}||$, is the square root of the inner product of $\mathbf{v}$ with itself.

Thanks to the positive-definiteness axiom, this is always a real, non-negative number. For the dot product, this is just the standard Euclidean distance!

Finding the Angle Between Vectors π (5/12)
